En Vogue
Dewi Driegen by Matt Jones for Vogue Paris May 2003
Now, I know everything is all about Fall/Winter fashion and trends at the moment, but after recently coming across this editorial I have been giving a strictly Spring/Summer piece a lot of thought.
Let's talk swimsuits.
Is it right to say that a swimsuit is timeless? The kind of timeless that is the trench coat - it is a wardrobe necessity, it stays almost the same every season, yet it is always fresh and in.
I ask this because I see the swimsuits in this editorial and I think that the majority of them can still be worn today - please note that this editorial is from 2003.
For another good example, think of how swimsuits at Emilio Pucci and Missoni, the makers of the chicest and most classic lux swimwear, always keep the same prints and cuts season to season. And from this I ask - can buying a lux swimsuit be considered an investment piece?
Thoughts? xx

to be honest i have to say the following: I love the swimsuits by Emilio Pucci and Missoni, but I'd never pay so much for it, it's just a swimsuit. and even if you are very careful in wearing it, the sun will make fade the beautiful colors... So I'd not buy them... sorry ;-)

These swimsuits could easily pass by as from this or last Summer. It's true they're a piece that usually doesn't change much so I think it could be a good investment piece :)
