The French Voguettes
(photos via tfs)
Emmanuelle Alt (Editor in Chief), Geraldine Saglio (Fashion and Marketing Editor), Capuchine Safyurtlu (Stylist)
Growing up, and having only Anna Wintor and the Vogue US crew as examples, I have always thought of a Vogue editor as a woman who dresses in the latest couture looks, with the highest heels, every hair perfectly in place, and spotted with the latest lipstick shade.
Most importantly, these editors could NEVER repeat an outfit and jeans were always out.
Now we have the ladies of Vogue Paris, who are currently some of the most influential editors in the business, walking around fashion week in jeans, and sometimes even in flats! If I would have heard of this when I was young, I would have been shocked. But I see photos of these women, and their effortless style is suddenly the chicest thing ever. It is making those couture pieces you would expect an editor to wear look incredibly fussy next to these tee shirts and skinny jeans. Plus, seeing Emmanuelle donning the same blue button up shirt twice during the same fashion week is not the biggest DON'T anymore, but rather a DO... Also, I would be surprised to know these women wore makeup, and used a ton of hair products.
Why this is hitting me now is a complete mystery to me, all I know is that I have joined the French Voguette's fan club, and these are the ladies I desperately wish would set up a blog and post what they are wearing daily, as well as beauty secrets. Please!
Happy weekend lovelies! xx

I like this style way better then the one that like you said "the latest couture looks, with the highest heels, every hair perfectly in place, and spotted with the latest lipstick shade." Fashion for me is freedom, it's not like a book of rules that you can't break. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and your lovely comment ;) I agree 100% that the editors are the most influential when it comes to street style during fashion week! Beauty and brains is always the best way to go! Great post.
